Tonight is time to join our forces to save our mother earth. Get involved by turning your lights off for an hour in between 8:30-9:30PM tonight, March 27, 2010.

A year ago, I was too amazed how 3D works in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The effects are quite unusual for a movie goers like me. When Bem-bem told me that SM Cinema 3 in Cebu offers a full-length 3D movie, I didn’t hesitate to send text message my hubby telling him about the news. I always want to watch full-length 3D movie since we missed the “Avatar” last January.
My hubby already got the 6:00PM tickets when I arrived. This is our favorite screening time because we don’t want to go home late. I’m over-excited when I claimed the free-popcorn at Snackbar and choose to be seated on the front row.
And I’m disappointed. Yes, it wasn’t what I expected. I found myself over-distracted to some out-of-focus background scenes which is doesn’t need to get blurry after-all. My hubby even got a headache (his first time to watch 3D, might be the post-movie dizziness). His brain was confused on what should be keep focusing.
But over-all, it was fantastic (minus the 3D perhaps). From the dialogs to the direction, from the direction to the action, they’re all spot on. The impressive digital effects are ideal for the story. The costumes of each cast exude the spirit of the original John Tenniel’s book illustrations. I just love how they transform the Red Queen to barely recognizable behind her digitally enlarged head and splendid make-up – makes being evil look more fun than it should. As a Mad Hatter, Johnny Deep’s make-up are superb, his acting are quite naturally directed especially when he dances “funderwhack” (is that what really the dance called?) I just wonder why the White Queen should always imitate Barbie Doll’s hand post. You know, the two-hands beside her shoulders? Well, I think I need to re-read the story to understand the meaning of it.
So, despite that the 3D was distracting from the story and its extraordinary characters and story. I still would want to say that “It’s definitely a must see movie!”

I was impressed by their friendly assistance when Eman and I inquired about the wedding packages offered at Cebu City Sports Club. Katrina showed us the Sinulog ballroom and formally introduced us their banquet services. The venue was ideal with attractive outside pool area and the banquet room looked impressive table set out. In short, we truly loved the place. It is just the way we want it and right then and there, we made a reservation for the 3-ballroom for a 150-pax. And it happened way back 2009, the 9th day of September.
A week before the wedding (2010 January 10th), we had our food tasting. We bought along a friend, Diday, who is much too picky with the taste. And here is our menu:
- Mixed Green Salad with Condiments and Choices of Dressing
- Fresh Lumpia with Peanut Sauce
- Spicy Fried Tofu with Spanish Sardines
- Soft Rolls and Butter
- Peppered Chicken
- Breaded Fish Fillet with Aioli Sauce
- Pork Cordon Bleau
- Buttered Vegetables
- Pasta Tuscana
- Steam Plain Rice
- Seasonal Fresh Fruits
- Leche Flan
During the wedding, the quality of the food together with the professional service of the staff was excellent. We even received many positive comments from the guest about the catering and the delightful venue.
