NewBorn Photography

Category : Land Scapes

I admit, I am so jealous when I saw a unique photo. Not the camera but the photographer itself, they’re very talented in capturing the emotion of the subject specially to the newborn babies.

I vow to Tracy Raver, she has the ability to illustrate the innocence, gentleness, and calmness in newborns in lovable portraits. I even don’t want to touch a one-month old babies myself, afraid that I might crushed them. But this photographer was able to pose the babies, as young as two weeks old, that looked peaceful and entirely adorable.

This picture holds my breath when I saw it at the mainpage of Yahoo as it says that:

“Tracy Raver was on the “Today” show Friday morning to talk about her unique way of photographing newborns. Searches on the shutterbug promptly shot through the roof.”

Below are some of the newborn photos (from clipmarks.com) which happens to be my chosen favorites . They’re perfectly adorable. You can view Tracy’s website here.

How to Look Good in Family Photos

Mr. Polentinos, my supervisor and mentor, shared this wonderful article from Reader’s Digest Philippines (March 2009 edition). This will gave us a photography technique that would treasure for a lifetime, not unless the photography world diminished. So, here it goes:

Early Summer Escapade at Boracay

(5)

Category : Photography, Travel

Summer has just begun and what a way to spend my early summer escapade is to spend it in Boracay with Eman’s family (my Paparts). I’ve never been there and many of my colleagues mentioned that Boracay is such an awesome paradise.

I’ve purchased the tickets two months before the scheduled date and it made me a thrill to feel the ambiance of what I’ve seen over the internet. I admit, my imagination runs wild and my expectations goes higher and higher when I read every review on local traveler forums and blogs (PEX etc).

February 22nd came, the scheduled date for our trip. Around 7:30AM, we boarded the Cebu Pacific going to Iloilo City. Frankly, it was my first time on a turbo propeller plane and it made me nervous seeing such a tiny 40-seater plane from the MCIAA departure lounge.

Thirty-two (32) minutes flying on-air seems endless for me, my feelings were quite mixed. I’m nervous that our plane might have a problem and I am also excited to see my Paparts (the last time I’ve seen him was over a month ago) but I am more excited to see Boracay personally.

We arrived at Sta Barbara Airport at 8:32AM, claimed our baggage and wait another hour for the van we hired going to Caticlan. The trip was quite long, it takes us 4 hours to take a five-minute boat ride from Caticlan to Boracay Island.

Sinulog 2009

I didn’t shoot RAW during the Cebu’s world-class Sinulog Festival. It is clearly stated on the Photo Contest guidelines. I didn’t registered to win the contest, I just want to get a pass for the enjoyment during the Grand Parade. One can go beyond the rope fence and take pictures as many as you like.

A Festival Queen uttered her prayer before the Sinulog 2009 street dancing started.

Frankly, I tried to copy the subject of the 1st Prize Sinulog 2008 Photo Contest – Sidelights Category (link here) . hehehe.. peace, sir dan.

…the Festival Queen of Tribu Kabatok from Tacloban (which bagged the top prize in Tacloban’s Sangyaw Festival)

Though I didn’t pass any entries, I considered it as a lifetime and a rewarding experience.
